Introducing the Lambda Theta Phi Memorial Bench and Scholarship Fundraising Campaign

Help us honor the memories of our brothers, Julian Rosado ’91 and Irving Navarro ’99, by raising funds in their memory. Carlos ’00 and Maritza ’00 Dortrait, Bristol Myers Squibb, and another generous donor have gotten us off to an amazing start by covering the costs of a new memorial bench as well as plaques - one each in their honor. This outdoor space on Rider's campus will provide an area where past, current, and future brothers can sit in contemplation of the legacies these outstanding brothers left to Lambda Theta Phi.

We strive to raise $25,000 to establish an endowed scholarship that recognizes our fraternity. With your support and involvement, the new Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Iota Chapter Endowed Scholarship will demonstrate our collective support for future Rider brothers.

Please join us as we memorialize The Fallen Brothers Julian Rosado ’91 and Irving Navarro ’99

"En La Unión Está La Fuerza" (In Unity there is Strength) is more than a motto for Lambda Theta Phi. The many brothers who've been inducted into the Iota Chapter at Rider University since its founding in February 1991 live each day in service to each other and our communities. Brothers, Julian Rosado ’91 and Irving Navarro ‘99, personified these principles in action during their time at Rider University and in their communities. Julian was Founder and President of Lambda Theta Phi Inc., Iota Chapter – Rider University and Irving was the Induction Officer and served as a Teacher in Jersey City Public School #5. Their legacy lives on with the seeds they planted through their leadership and contributions to the Iota Chapter, Rider University, and beyond.

In honor of Julian who passed away in 1994 at age 25, and Irving who passed away in 2001 at age 24, the Iota Chapter seeks to work cooperatively with our alumni brothers to raise funds in their memory.

Joining together in remembrance at the bench dedication - October 29

Please save the date of October 29 at 3 p.m. In addition to beautifying the memorial space behind Alumni House, we look forward to hosting a gathering during Homecoming Weekend that includes current brothers as well as alumni brothers as we dedicate the bench, remember Julian and Irving, and share the progress we are making toward raising funds for the endowed scholarship. Individuals interested in making a multi-year pledge may reach out to Denise Pinney at dpinney@rider.edu.

Sincerely,
Julian Nieves, President
