Show your support for the new Gary Taylor Wrestling Center
Rider University will create a new 6,000-square-foot wrestling center (double the current size!) that supports and expands the wrestling program and enables the program to train and grow the next generation of champion wrestlers. The renovation of the wrestling facility will honor Coach Taylor’s 39-year legacy at Rider.
Thanks to the generosity of Tim Morrison '83 and his family, we are 75% of the way to our goal of $750,000! We need your support to pin $250,000 to reach our goal.
Specific improvements include:
- Expanded wrestling room
- Dedicated strength and cardio section
- Dedicated entrances for student-athletes and coaches
- New wall-to-wall wrestling mats
- An honorary "Wall of Champions" that showcases the programs history - including 18 All-Americans and 14 Conference Team Title
The Morrison Family challenges others to give so that the goals of this ambitious project are fully met. "Gary Taylor recruited me to wrestle in 1979, and later my three sons," says Morrison. "He was a true mentor to me and my family. It is our honor to make our gift in tribute to Gary and all he has done for my family and for Rider." Tim and his sons Tim (TJ) '08, Robert (Rob) '11 and Clint '15 want the family gift to inspire others to support this transformational project.
"The impact of this gift from the Morrison Family is significant," says Head Wrestling Coach John Hangey. "This transformational project will fortify Coach Taylor's legacy at Rider and provide a top-tier Division I training center for all current and future Rider wrestlers. This commitment to excellence will also elevate our profile in the eyes of our alumni, fans and prospective student-athletes."
